Dr. Songsu Son is an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at the American University in Dubai. His expertise is in transportation engineering with interests in sustainable pavement materials and innovative technologies on road construction. Prior to joining AUD, he worked at the Illinois Center for Transportation as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on several governmental projects, which included development of new road materials incorporating with environment-friendly and cost-effective materials. His experience also includes international development professional at the National University of Architecture, Ministry of Transportation in Morocco, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Michigan (USA) and holds a certificate in Business from the University of Illinois (USA).
