Biography

Dr. Saima Sarwar has started her career from the Govt. College University Lahore in 2008. She received “Best Student Award’ in her academics and remained Gold Medalist and Merit Scholarship holder throughout her studies. She completed her Ph. D. degree from GCUL in 2015 and wrote her thesis on one of the mounting issues of developing nations regarding political economy of trade policy. Her focus remained on both the institutional and constitutional capacities of these developing nations in evolving economic decisions. She has been participating and representing GCU at many national and international forums. Moreover she got the opportunities to deliver lectures as a guest speaker in workshops at National Management College, Government of Pakistan. She attended various dialogues and trainings organized by World Bank and HEC. She also remained engaged with Lahore Chamber of Commerce related to various policy dialogues on leadership issues and challenges in Pakistan. Many scholarly articles are to her credit in various academic journals both national and international. Moreover, she has been a regular contributor to GCU magazine, The Scientific Ravi. In addition to her academic and research contributions, Dr. Saima Sarwar has also provided services in extracurricular activities by being the advisor of Mahbub ul Haq Economic Society. This Society provides a platform to the students of Department of Economics for a healthy interaction with renowned economists and old Ravians. She strives hard to make a difference by teaching tomorrows’ decision makers and always feels proud for having both academic and professional affiliation with her Alma Mater.
