Dr. Muhammad Ijaz is Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore and holds D.V.M. (UVAS), MPhil (UVAS), Ph.D. (UVAS &USA) & Post. Doc. (USA) degrees in Veterinary Medicine. He conducted significant part of his Ph.D. research at Gluck Equine Research Centre, University of Kentucky, USA and published 05 peer-reviewed papers from that research. The title of his research is “Epidemiology, Diagnosis and Chemotherapy of Strangles in Equine”. Dr. Ijaz through his research benefited the country. He isolated 6 new SeM alleles of Streptococcus equi (including one from Pakistani strain) that will have a definite impact in solving the problem of Vaccination Failure/Immunity Breakdown against strangles. His research interests are equine and ruminant internal medicine and critical care. He has the honour of participating in number of national/international conferences/seminars and has also presented a number of research papers. Dr. Ijaz is author of more than fort five publications in high impact factor journals. He is reviewer for the national and international journals. He has supervised or co-supervised ten Master’s students. In recognition of his research work and he has been awarded “STAR AWARD of the year: 2009”,
