Dr. Mohamad Nagi has more than 20 years experience in construction materials, corrosion of metals, durability and non-destructive test methods. Prior to joining AUD as Director of the Infrastructure Sustainability and Assessment Center, Dr. Nagi was Regional Manager of the Materials Technology Group of GHD in Dubai. He also spent more than 15 years with CTL Group, a leading Engineering firm specialised in structures and concrete materials in the United States. Mohamad is the author of over 35 technical papers on concrete materials, corrosion, durability and non-destructive testing. His areas of technical expertise include concrete durability, evaluation of reinforced concrete structures, repair and rehabilitation procedures, Corrosion assessment, and corrosion prevention systems. Throughout his career in the USA, Dr. Nagi provided litigation support for projects involving failure and damage of concrete and masonry structures. He also participated in several Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) projects, and served as principal investigator on an NCHRP research project involves development of new testing procedures for air-entraining admixtures in concrete. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia, and has served on numerous technical committees of the American Concrete Institute, the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and the Transportation Research Board.
