Laurent Pierot is Professor of Radiology in the faculty of Medicine of Reims (France) and Head of the department of Neuroradiology in University Hospital in Reims since 2001. He was trained in Neuroradiology in La Salpêtrière Hospital (Pr J. Chiras) and in Foundation Rothschild Hospital (Pr J. Moret) in Paris. His clinical, academic, and research activity are focused on Neuroradiology, mainly Interventional Neuroradiology. His Research activities are focused on evaluation of therapies in the field of Interventional Neuroradiology (intracranial aneurysms, stroke therapy, brain and spine vascular malformations treatment). He is (or was) Principal Investigator for several multicenter French (ATENA, CLARITY, ARETA, WEB French Observatory, SAFE) and European trials (BRAVO, WEBCAST, WEBCAST2). Professor Pierot has published more than 150 papers (including more than 70 in the last 5 years) in the most important Journals for Neuroradiology and Vascular Disorders of the brain, including Stroke, Radiology, AJNR, Neuroradiology, JNIS, Journal of Neuroradiology, and EJMINT He is Editor-in-Chief for EJMINT and Journal of Neuroradiology, Section Editor (Interventional Radiology) for Stroke, and member of the Editorial Board of AJNR and Neuroradiology
Laurent Pierot presented on some of the clinical challenges faced as in the continued quest for improved clinical outcomes, noting the importance of understanding clot in order to improve therapy.
