Biography

Currently working as Professor in University of Munster. Born on 12 January 1941; Abitur in 1961; Study of Protestant Theology in Marburg SS 1961 - 1965; First Theological Examination SS 1965; WS 1965 to April 1968: Scientific assistant at the Old Testament Seminar of the Philipps-University in Marburg; Preparation of a dissertation (supervised by Prof. Dr. O. Kaiser); Study of Semitic Studies (with Prof. Dr.O. Rössler); 18.1.1969 Completion of the doctorate procedure in Marburg; 1971 April: Habilitation scholarship by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (until September 1973); Since October 1973 until February 1981 pastor of the Protestant Church Kurhessen-Waldeck; 10.11.1976 Completion of the habilitation procedure in Marburg; March 1, 1983 Appointment as professor at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Westfälische-Wilhelms-Universität Münster (subject: "Old Testament").
