Biography

Dr. Julie D. Ries, PT, has been on the faculty at Marymount University’s Physical Therapy program since its inception. She has extensive physical therapy clinical experience in acute care, home care, and neurological rehabilitation, and she continues to be active in regular clinical practice at Inova Fairfax Hospital and the Arlington Free Clinic. Dr. Ries has been recognized by the Malek School of Health Professions for her excellence in teaching with the SHP Outstanding Teacher Award in 2003, 2006, and 2014. She has been recognized by the APTA’s Section on Geriatrics for her research efforts with the 2010 Excellence in Geriatric Research Award, and received the SHP Faculty Scholarship Award in 2012.
