Born in Bilbao (1965), Josu Mezo graduated in Law, with Honors in the Final exam at the University of Deusto (1988) and completed a Masters in Social Sciences at the Center for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences of the Institute Juan March, in Madrid (1990), where he continued investigating for the realization of his thesis Doctoral, under the direction of David Laitin, then at the University of Chicago. The thesis Was defended in 1996 in the doctorate program in Political Science, Sociology and Social Anthropology of the Autonomous University of Madrid. Between 1993 and 2001 he worked as a researcher in Socio-Political Analysts, Research led by Víctor Pérez-Díaz, Professor of Sociology at the University Complutense of Madrid. There he participated in several research projects on Public policies related in particular to environmental issues. Between the Works carried out emphasizes the study with Víctor Pérez-Díaz and Berta ÁlvarezMiranda, Water Policy and Economics in Spain (pdf), which received the Círculo de Businessmen. In 1996 he began his teaching at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of Complutense University of Madrid. In 1999 he joined the Faculty of Sciences Environmental and Biochemistry of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Toledo. As well Teaches or has taught in the Faculty of Sports Sciences, and in the undergraduate and Master of Anthropology of the same university. Between 2001 and 2004 he was professor of Program of the Syracuse University in Madrid.
