I began my working career in the Navy where I spent 5 honorable years on active duty. During that time, I began to appreciate management and leadership studies as well as an academic angle to my portfolio. I transitioned from the Navy to the Department of Defense in a federal service position and at the 5 year mark began to teach as an adjunct professor of business. Teaching and supporting students became my light and passion. I would handle my duties supervising a navy supply department and teach courses in business, management, human resources and organizational behavior. This love for teaching led me to go forward with my education and research in the area of management and leadership. My prior positions include: Management and supervision of a supply and logistics department, program management and budgeting for the navy and marine corps, serving as an Undersecretary of the Navy Acquisition Intern and a contracts administrator. I have had a very accomplished government career that enabled me to see many angles of acquisition, leadership and what the needs for the future might bring. I have had two successful management consulting practices where I worked with the government and the United States Postal Service and traveled throughout the United States. I have also served on the Board of Directors for a Va Credit Union and serves as a mentor and advisor to government organizations. For the past fourteen years, I have held various positions in higher education, both administrative and teaching. I have been very involved with both graduate and undergraduate courses both teaching and mentoring, and led the way for transformative and innovative educational products for academic institutions in degree programs- MBA, Human Resource Management, Masters in Management and Organizational Leadership. I have developed curriculum, recruited and hired faculty served as a lead faculty and developed business partnerships, recruited learners, and managed an undergrad HR/OB program as an Academic Department Chair. My philosophy is modeled on the Greenleaf Servant Leadership Model and my success is founded on that principle and tenets. I have had the experience of being a co-owner in a retail business serving as the human resources director and responsible for hiring, firing and disciplinary actions. Additionally, I am an owner of real estate and help others to find homes and safe places to live and is a member of the community serving as the commander of the Neighborhood Watch Program. Each year I have set up a team for Relay for Life in my area. This is just another way I give back to society and to the community as I believe in social responsibility both personally and in the corporate sense. Last year I became a member of the Board of Directors for Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants and I was elected to the faculty senate of my alma mater, Saint Leo University. I have also extensively published in the areas of change, management, business and leadership. I remain a part of my professional organizations as well to keep current and to keep moving forward in my specialty I participate in social change by being a community betterment steward giving to the poor and the needy and helping them through seminars and job skills training. I give food baskets to the community at the holidays and am a avid neighborhood watch captain in the community looking out for the older and youth, alike. I also reach out in my work and open my arms to all and share my skills freely so that others may go out and prosper with their ideas through my vision, support and leadership.
