Dr. Jack Rechcigl is the center director and professor at the University of Florida Gulf Coast Research and Education Center and on the HCC campus in Plant City. Dr. Rechcigl’s studies the beneficial uses of organic wastes and industrial by-products as fertilizers for agricultural crops. In particular, his research focuses on evaluating the fertilizer requirements of pasture grasses as well as determining ways to reduce fertilizer runoff in to water ways.
