Dr Helena Romaniuk is a Biostatistician jointly employed by the Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) and Population Health Studies of Adolescents. She joined Murdoch Childrens Research Institute in 2008 following training and a range of positions in the UK. Dr Romaniuk completed an undergraduate degree in Statistics and Operational Research (Coventry), a Masters in Statistics (University of Sheffield) and a PhD in Statistics (University of Southampton). For her PhD, she investigated statistical methods for analysing longitudinal event data. In the UK, she initially worked in the pharmaceutical industry, and then in public health and medical research at two university hospitals (St Georges Hospital, London and Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham). After completing her PhD, she went on to work in early infant and child development research at two psychology departments (University of Reading and Birkbeck, University of London). In her current position, Dr Romaniuk mainly collaborates with researchers based in the Population Health Studies of Adolescents. She also undertakes research into multiple imputation, coordinates a Masters subject on Data Management and Statistical Computing for the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia (BCA) on behalf of the Melbourne School of Population & Global Health and regularly contributes to the teaching of statistics short courses for CEBU.
