Prof. Sadikoglu completed his elementary and secondary school studies in Nakhchivan. Then, he enrolled to the Department of Information Measurement and Computer Technologies of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in 1965. He graduated from this department in 1970 and started to work as a research assistant at the Signal Processing Laboratory of Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, and after two years, he started to his PhD studies. After completing his PhD studies on information acquisition, transmission, and processing, he started to work as a lecturer at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. Prof. Sadikoglu obtained his Associate Professorship in Moscow, in 1986. He worked at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in Baku as an Associate Professor and Research Project Manager from 1986 to 1988. He has been working at the Near East University of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus since 1995. He became the Head of the Department of Electric and Electronic Engineering in 1998, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in 2000, and appointed as the Vice President in 2001. He was also the Director of Graduate School of Applied and Social Sciences starting from its establishment until 2004.
Interested research areas are: Advanced digital signal processing; Computational intelligence; Communication systems. In these areas were obtained 5 Patents delivered by ex-URSS State Committee of Invention and Discoveries: 1) Oil well profilemeter. Patent No 733254, 1980. 2) Logarithmic converter. Patent No 754439, 1980. 3) Adaptive sampling. Patent No 792582, 1981. 4) System reconstruction of analogue signal from samples. Patent No 877572, 1982. 5) Angular position to voltage converter. Patent No 1245870, 1986.
