Dr. Chithra Manisseri completed her MSc in Plant Science from Calicut University with specialization in plant tissue culture. She got her PhD degree in Biotechnology from Dept. of Biochemistry and Nutrition, Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore. She has postdoctoral research experiences from Joint Bioenergy Institute (JBEI)/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California, USA, University of Hamburg, Germany and Academia Sinica-Taiwan R.O.C. She worked as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Microbial Biotechnology, Bharathiar University from 3rdJune-3rdOct. 2016, after nationally selected for the position of Assistant Professor in biological sciences under UGC-FRP. She joined the Dept. of Plant Science, Central University of Kerala on 4thOctober 2016 and her research focus is on plant cell wall polymers and their importance in biofuel production and bioactive components. She has one patent and published 18 research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
