Biography

Ophthalmologist specialising in the retina from the Ocular Microsurgery Institute and associate professor on the Master's Course in Retina and Vitreous run by IMO and the Faculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her main area of interest is the uveitis and medical retina. Her research field encompasses inflammatory and infectious diseases of the retina, congenital diseases, acquired and degenerative diseases of the retina, with special attention to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). She is involved in research into pathologies and treatments for medical and surgical retina. During her medical studies she was awarded a scholarship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. She gained proven research experience on the Surgical Doctorate Programme run by the UAB and, in the same year, took part in an Observershipat the Medical Retina and Vitreoretinal Surgery Department at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London,United Kingdom.
