Biography

Dorothy Tse received her Ph.D. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She taught at CUHK before joining HKBU. Her research fields include modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Hong Kong literature, literary theory, and creative writing. Recent academic publications include(The Concept of “Tong Hua” and Its Target Readers During the May Fourth Period—Lu Xun’s Translations and Introduction of Children’s Stories as a Case Study) in(The Discovery of Children: The Problem of the Child in Modern Chinese Literature and Culture);(Between Body and City: Xi Xi’s Mourning for the Breast, or A Multiplicity of Juxtaposed Texts) in(Fleurs des Lettres). Recent creative writing publications: A Dictionary of Two Cities)(co-authored with Hon Lai Chu); Snow and Shadow (Trans. Nicky Harman; forthcoming 2014).
