Donald Cole is a professor emeritus of anthropology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Egyptology at The American University in Cairo. He received a BA in 1963 from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA in 1968 and PhD in 1971 from the University of California in Berkeley. Cole is a social anthropologist and has conducted extensive field research in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He joined AUC in 1971 and retired in 2007.
