The role was created as part of a partnership with the University of Otago’s Department of Theology and Religion. Don is based at St John’s campus in Auckland but teaches for Otago’s Department of Theology. This provides an important link for the high proportion of St Johns students who are enrolled in University of Otago qualifications. He is pioneering a videoconference based lecture programme that joins campus and distance students. Providing accessible quality theological education to students whatever their context is a high priority for him. In addition to teaching in the undergraduate programme Don is also responsible for the postgraduate students based at St Johns. He coordinates monthly seminars along with supervision and support.
