Domenico Beneventano was born in Sasso di Castalda Italy and received the Laurea degree summa cum laude in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, both from the University of Bologna Italy. He is currently professor of Computer Engineering at the Engineering Department “Enzo Ferrari” I Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia. Research*Experience* His research activity has been mainly devoted to knowledge representation and management in the context of very large databases facing both theoretical and implementation aspects, with particular reference to reasoning techniques applied to databases for knowledge representation and query optimization. On this topic relevant theoretical results have been obtained and a system ODBITools performing consistency check and semantic query optimization In Object Oriented Databases, based on this theoretical results, is available on Internet at: www.dbgroup.unimo.it.
