Biography

Diego Finchelstein holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) and a BA in Sociology (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Buenos Aires and has a Ph.D. in Political Science (Northwestern University). He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of strategy and international business within the School of Business Administration of the University of San Andrés and is a researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). He has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses at prestigious universities in the country and abroad (including Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Pontificia Georgetown University-UNSAM, University of Buenos Aires, Javeriana University of Colombia, and Northwestern University-Business Institutions Program).His areas of interest and research are linked to the internationalization of Latin American companies, corporate governance, the strategy of large economic groups in Argentina and the regulation of public services. Results of these investigations have been presented in numerous congresses in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Canada and the United States.He has also published in Argentinean and foreign magazines (including Journal of World Business, Economic Development, Economic Reality, Apuntes Magazine, and Dissent). To develop his research he has obtained scholarships and funding from CONICET, UNSAM, National Science Foundation (NSF) - Center for Technology and Innovation Management (Kellogg School of Management), Buffett Center for Comparative and International Studies (Northwestern University) and University of San Andres. Professor Finchelstein has developed research and consulting work for the IDB and the Secretariat of Energy of the Argentine government.
