Biography

Dr. Adamczyk is a 1985 Pennsylvania College of Optometry graduate. She completed her residency at the Newington Veterans Administration Hospital in Newington, CT. She holds the rank of Professor at SUNY, College of Optometry and Adjunct Professor at NECO. In addition to being involved in optometric education for over 25 years, she has also been a private practice consultant. She is currently director of residency education at SUNY, College of Optometry. Along with her administrative responsibilities, Dr. Adamczyk teaches in a variety of didactic courses. Dr. Adamczyk has been an instructor for the Ocular Pharmacology course at NECO, and is instructor of record at SUNY. She also teaches the ocular pharmacology course for the master's program offered by NECO in Aalen, Germany. Dr. Adamczyk lectures internationally and has written articles, chapters and coauthored the textbook Primary Eyecare in Systemic Disease. Dr. Adamczyk is actively involved in the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education, as both a member of the residency subcommittee and site team chair for numerous residency accreditation visits. Dr. Adamczyk is also the chair of the American Optometric Association Clinical Resources Executive Committee, and chair of the Evidence-Based Optometry committee, which includes the development of evidence based clinical guidelines.
