Biography

Dr. Karr is chief of the Department of Ophthalmology pediatrics service, the Elks Children's Eye Clinic, and director of the pediatric ophthalmology fellowship program. He received his M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Karr completed residencies in pediatrics and ophthalmology at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle. He was a pediatric fellow in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Karr has been on the faculties of West Virginia University School of Medicine and the University of Washington. He was ophthalmologist-in-chief at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle and has been in private practice in Fairbanks, Alaska, and Great Falls, Montana. His clinical and research interests include amblyopia, strabismus, pediatric cataract, and international children's eye care.
