Danie Hoffman , [BSc Quantity Surveying cum laude (UFS), MBA, MSc Quantity Surveying cum laude (UP), PrQS] has wide experience as a quantity surveyor, being employed at a number of consulting firms since 1984. He started lecturing on a part-time basis on the master’s programme of the Department of Quantity Surveying in 2006, and was appointed as full-time senior lecturer in 2007. He served on various professional bodies and committees, such as the Standard System Joint Committee of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS) and Master Builders South Africa (MBSA) (formerly the Building Industries Federation of South Africa (BIFSA)) and the Gauteng Chapter of ASAQS.Â
Research focus area are  Costing Models and Whole Life Costing; Green Building & Whole Life Costing; Project / Construction Procurement.
