Born in Altınova, Ayvalık in 1961, Prof. DaÄŸlı attended 14 Eylül Primary School, Bandırma Åžehit Süleyman Bey State Boarding School, and Kuleli Military High School. He started his medical training at Ä°stanbul University CerrahpaÅŸa Medical School, and finally graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy (GATA). After working for a year in Sarıkamış he began his specialty training in anaesthesiology and reanimation back at GATA in 1987. He worked as a specialist for a year at GümüÅŸsuyu Military Hospital and then in 1992 he was appointed as assistant professor of anaesthesiology and reanimation at GATA. Prof. DaÄŸlı became associate professor in 1997, professor in 2003, and in 2004 he was appointed as Chief of Service for Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at GATA HaydarpaÅŸa Training Hospital. He became a member of the High Council for Science in 2012, a role which lasted 18 months. He remains Chair of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation at SANKO University and is also a qualified specialist in algology (pain) and intensive care. Prof. DaÄŸlı is married and has two children.
