Biography

Dr. Mier is the supervisor of the Human Performance Laboratory. She earned her MS from the University of Arizona and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine where her primary research involved cardiovascular adaptations to exercise training, and aging and cardiovascular disease. Her current research projects include energy expenditure during long distance kayaking, and use of video analyses for posture and joint range of motion assessment. She has published several research papers and has presented at both the regional and national level. Dr. Mier is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine.
