She holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (1986), a Master's degree in Cell Biology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1994), a PhD in Physiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2002), partially developed at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Currently Associate Professor level IV of the Institute of Biological Sciences of UFMG; National Coordinator of PROFBIO-Professional Master in Teaching of Biology in National Network; Subcommittee of the Postgraduate Support Center of the ICB (NAPG), which coordinated in the biennium from October 2014 to 2016; lecturer at the permanent nucleus of the Postgraduate Program in Cell Biology of the ICB / UFMG (concept 6 of CAPES), of which she was sub-coordinator from May / 2011 to April / 2012 and coordinator from April / 2012 to June / 2014.
