Biography

Claudia De Giorgi Born in 1968, architect and designer, researcher at Design at the Politecnico di Torino, deputy coordinator of the College of Design, De Giorgis focuses on sustainable innovation of materials, processes and products of design-oriented, industrial And artisanal enterprises, especially regional production systems. Since 2010, the Scientific Director of the Politecnico of Turin DAD, of the research EDEN Eco-Design Network, a cross-border network part of the 2007-2013 Intra-regional Alcotra Program Italy-France, committed to advocating the engineering of eco-compatible Products, with particular regard to those activities developed in the Piedmont region through close cooperation with project partners. Since 2008, the scientific director of MATto (www.polito.it/matto.it), A material archive for research and open teaching sponsored by SMEs in Piedmont (MATto_materiali for design): MATto uses a unique method to study the sensory characteristics of materials. Since 1995, together with Claudio Germak, she is the curator of the Piedmont Torino Design observatory and itinerant exhibition.
