Biography

In his research Charles Briggs uses behavioral and population tools to examine ecological and evolutionary questions in birds. Recently he has focused on how different plumages are maintained within a population. Before coming to Hamilton, Briggs worked for the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory, a small nonprofit outside of San Francisco, where he managed research and trained hundreds of citizen scientists to help monitor raptor populations of California. Briggs earned his master's degree and doctorate in ecology, evolution and conservation biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has a bachelor's degree in biology and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Virginia Tech.
