Biography

Chrisna du Plessis joined the Department of Architecture at the University of Pretoria in 2015 after teaching sustainable construction, mechanical services and research methodology at the Department of Construction Economics since 2011. She is also Visiting Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and teaches a module on sustainability blueprints in an MSc programme at the National University of Singapore. She has been external examiner for the professional master’s degree at several South African universities, as well as Chalmers University of Technology, and has also examined a number of international PhD candidates.

Research Intrest

ƒHer chief interest are in application of resilience theory to the built environment, Regenerative design theory, Sustainable human settlement development and construction, The application of sustainability science in the built environment, The dynamics of urban social-ecological systems,ƒ Societal transformation through ecological values and ethics, Sustainable development analysis, evaluation and assessment and Decision-making support for sustainable development.
