Biography

"Dr Chean is a senior lecturer in Family medicine at the Penang Medical College. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Queensland, Australia and subsequently her postgraduate fellowship in Family Medicine from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, New Zealand. After spending 17 years in Australasia, Dr Chean decided it was time to change of scenery and weather and returned to her home country, Malaysia. Upon returning home, she joined the government service as a medical officer for three years and subsequently joined Penang Medical College. She is enthusiastic in teaching and well- liked by students. Dr Chean is currently residing in Penang with her husband and three children. In her spare time, she really enjoys cooking. Dr Chean is active in research. Her main interest is communication skills and women and child health. She won 2 scientific poster presentation awards in 2012".
