Biography

Dr. Ceyda Öztekin received her BS degree in 2004 with high honour, from the department of Psychology of Middle East Technical University. She also had a minor degree in Business Administration in the area of General Management. She took her MS degree and PhD from Middle East Technical University, Psychological Counseling and Guidance program in 2008 and 2016, respectively. Her MS thesis named “The Role of Sense of Coherence and Physical Activity on Positive and Negative Affect of Turkish Adolescents” was published in journal of Adolescence. She started her career as a school psychologist in a preschool with children aged between 2-6 and their families. Then, between 2008 and 2011, she worked as a school psychologist for children aged 4-11, in a private international elementary school in Bilkent. During the time she attended a certificate program on “parent training” in California, USA and following this, parent training became the focus of her professional interest. After working in educational settings for 5 years, she moved to clinical field and worked with children and families from 2011 to 2016. In addition to her work with children and parents, she completed the theoretical and supervision trainings with Prof. Dr. Hürol FışıloÄŸlu at Middle East Technical University Continuing Education Centre and started to work as a couple therapist, as well.

Research Intrest

“Problems of children aged between 0-10”, “parent training”, “teacher training” and “couple therapy” are her main interest areas. She gave parent and teacher trainings at several schools and institutions. She worked as the consultant of Bilkent Erzurum Laboratory Schools between the years of 2013-2016. Dr. Öztekin still provides trainings and consultation services for several educational institutions.
