Cayo Ramos has a degree (1985) and Doctor (1990) in Biology from the University of Seville. Full Professor in 2000 and Professor of Genetics since 2011, belonging to the Department of Cell Biology, Genetics and Physiology of the University of Málaga (UMA). His scientific career has been completed as postdoctoral researcher EMBO (1995), EU Marie Curie Fellow (1997) and Associate Professor of Research (1997-2000) in the Department of Microbiology at the Technical University of Denmark (Lyngby). Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher funded by the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) and the European Union (1994 to 1997) in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology of Plants (Zaidín Experimental Station, CSIC, Granada). As a MEC postdoctoral fellow and researcher (1990-1993) at the Department of Yeast Genetics (The Carlsberg Laboratories, Copenhagen, Denmark).
