Biography

Cathy Deckys joined the Boise State University School of Nursing clinical faculty in 2010 upon becoming the first graduate of the Master of Science in nursing program. She brings with her, 35 years of clinical practice, half of which was dedicated to her field of specialty in occupational health and public health. She has worked for two Fortune 500 companies in the Seattle area, providing nursing services for occupational and non-occupational illness and injury. She has developed employee wellness programs, ergonomic training, and emergency response teams.

Research Intrest

Her current teaching interests are Community and Population Health Nursing, Leadership and Management, Community Preceptorships, Evidence-based practice (EBP) research, and Comparative Effectiveness research (CER).
