His special interests include renal physiology and clinical translational research. Research activities encompass the following areas: (1) epidemiology of acute kidney injury, development of novel types of dialysis filters, cardio-renal syndrome pathophysiology, mesangial cell calcium physiology; (2) role of renal artery denervation in the treatment of refractory hypertension; (3) epidemiology of acute kidney injury, critical care nephrology; (4) role of gravitational fields on yeast genetics, renal tubular transport systems.
