He graduated in Chemistry at the University of Milan in 1988. In the same year he passed the qualification examination for the Chemistry profession. During the academic years 1989/90, 1990/91 and 1991/92 he attended the V cycle of the Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Milan, performing the thesis "1,3-Dipolar Diphenyl Cycloadditions". He earned the Ph.D. degree in September 1993. From October 1993 to May 1994 he worked at the Institute of Chemical and Biochemistry Research "Giuliana Ronzoni", interested in the synthesis of organic compounds. From June 1994 to June 1996 he has been awarded a postgraduate scholarship at the Department of Organic and Industrial Chemistry, In the academic years 1996/97 and 1997/98 he was a contract professor at the University of Milan for the completion of a supplementary course on "1,3-Dipolary Cycloadditions: Mechanistic and Stereochemical Aspects", in the field of official teaching Of "Mechanisms of reaction in organic chemistry". In the 1998/99 academic year, he did the same supplementary course as a contract professor at the University of Insubria. Dall'a.a. 1999/2000 at da. 2004/2005 he was a Professor at the Faculty of Science MM.FF.NN for the teaching of "Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds". (Headquarters of Como) of the same University. Research interests include heterocyclic synthesis, achieved above all by intramolecular transition metal catalysed reactions mainly focused on - CH functionalization of carbon-carbon multiple bonds in oxidative palladium-catalyzed conditions, used in cross-coupling reactions giving hetero (poly) cyclic systems as well as in C-heteroatom bond formation processes; - oxidative palladium-catalyzed and copper-promoted reactions in domino processes, specifically in aminooxygenation, diamination, arylation / esterification, arylation / halogenation, aminochlorination and aminoacetoxylation sequences; - amination and hydroamination reactions by palladium, gold, and ruthenium catalysis.
