Bradley M. Appelhans, PhD, is a health psychologist who studies neurobehavioral influences on eating behavior. He also designs and evaluates novel weight loss interventions for adults and children. His two ongoing NIH-funded projects focus on the role of temporal discounting -- a construct related to the inability to delay gratification -- in household food purchasing patterns and vending machine snack choices. Appelhans also provides behavioral weight management services in the Rush University Prevention Center.
