Biography

Dr. Freeman joined AUD in August 2013. Previously, he was Assistant Professor at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He conducted research as a selected Taiwan Research Fellow, attached to Fu Jen University, Republic of China. Previously, he lectured in the Media Arts Department at Marist College in New York, and at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the Music & Video Business Program. His main areas of research include Radio & Audio Media, Pop Culture & New Media, and Environmental & Political Communication Studies. Dr. Freeman is currently working on an introductory textbook for mass media in the Gulf region, tentatively titled “Introduction to Mass Media: Globe & Gulf.” He has also recently had a book chapter accepted entitled “Communication and media: types, functions, and key concepts” for the upcoming book, "Media Literacy in Higher Education Environments" from IGI Publishers.
