Current research directed towards studies of Late Palaeozoic palynomorph assemblages with particular emphasis on stratigraphic, palaeoenvironmental and palaeolatitudenal variation in assemblages between the Euramerican and Gondwanan palaeocontinents. Current investigations include studies of the Devonian in Oman and Saudi Arabia and the Carboniferous of the UK, central USA, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Siberia.
