Behrooz Behbod is Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Nicosia Medical School and a Consultant in Public Health Medicine. Dr Behbod has an MB ChB degree in Medicine & Surgery (Leeds University), an MSc degree in Environmental Health (Cyprus International Institute for the Environment and Public Health), and an ScD in Environmental Epidemiology (Harvard University). Dr Behbod has also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Applied Epidemiology (Epidemic Intelligence Service at the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), specialist medical training in Public Health Medicine (Oxford School of Public Health), and is a Fellow of the UK’s Faculty of Public Health. His research & service interests include Smart and Healthy Cities, public, environmental and planetary health intelligence (tracking), as well as public health interventions in the prevention and management of chronic non-communicable disease through a preconception and life-course approach. Other interests include health education, training and communication in all sectors.
