Biography

Dr. Asefzadeh is a 2003 graduate of the New England College of Optometry. She completed her residency in primary care optometry from 2003-2004 at the Jamaica Plain VA. After residency, she became the first Optometric Research Fellow at VA Boston. After completion of the fellowship in 2006, Dr. Asefzadeh was hired as a full-time optometrist at the VA Boston Healthcare System, working in both clinical and telemedicine capacities. She received her Master in Vision Science from NECO in 2008, investigating retinal thickness changes in diabetic eyes using Optical Coherence Tomography. Currently, she serves as Director of the VA Boston Optometric Research Fellowship.
