Biography

Ms. Aubrey Mast, MPH, is an Extension Associate in nutrition with the N.C. Cooperative Extension component of PHHI. She coordinates a nutrition-oriented program that engages faculty from N.C. State University, N.C. Research Campus partners and other community stakeholders (e.g. health organizations) to develop and disseminate research-based resources that educate key audiences about the health-promoting characteristics of plants (primarily fruits and vegetables). Her responsibilities include delivering programming that supports the economic growth of North Carolina producers by enhancing consumer awareness of the health benefits of plants like fruits and vegetables. She also promotes public health and nutrition education to enhance the understanding consumers and other key audiences have about produce and the impacts on human health and well-being. Mast works closely with PHHI’s lead researchers as well as the Cooperative Extension group to help facilitate projects and partnerships that can advance the institute’s mission involving human health. She leads the effort to package and disseminate information generated from those projects and partnerships that promotes public health while cultivating relationships and collaborative opportunities with strategic partners, university faculty and the community.
