Biography

"Arundathi Jayatilleke, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at Drexel University College of Medicine. She is also director of the Rheumatology Fellowship program, course director for Year 2 PIL clinical skills and the rheumatology elective rotation, and associate pathways advisor for internal medicine. MD - Duke University College of Medicine (2005) MS with distinction - Yale University (2001) BS with distinction, magna cum laude - Yale University (2001). Dr. Jayatilleke is developing an online game to teach medical students how to conduct exams for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and intends to expand to other areas of rheumatology. The platform will teach the elements of muskuloskeletal exam using simulation. For this work she received the Clinician Scholar Educator Award from the Rheumatology Research Foundation in 2016."

Research Intrest

Dr. Jayatilleke's research interests include ultrasound in the evaluation of osteoarthritis, ultrasound as a marker of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis, and pregnancy and fertility counseling in autoimmune disease.
