Biography

Anna Carolina Soares Almeida currently working as Adjunct Professor of Genetics, Department of Biology, UFRPE. Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences (UFRPE), Master's Degree in Cellular and Applied Molecular Biology (UPE), PhD in Genetics (UFPE) and Research Projects in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Viruses / Laboratory of Microbial Resistance (ICB / UPE) and In the Laboratory of Genetics of Microorganisms (LGM / UFPE). He has experience in the areas of Applied Molecular Biology and Medical Microbiology.

Research Intrest

Identification and characterization of resistance genes such as KPC (pneumoniae carbapenemase), OXA (oxacillinase), ESBLs (broad spectrum beta-lactamases), QNR (Determinant of resistance to quinolones) and VRE (vancomycin resistance gene) in nosocomial bacteria
