Biography

Professor Andy Giraud is co-leader of the Gastrointestinal Research in Inflammation and Pathology (GRIP) group, which focuses on chronic inflammatory disease of the gut including eosinophilic oesophagitis, gastric cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Professor Giraud is a recipient of a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Research Fellowship. The group's research is currently supported by grants from Worldwide Cancer Research (formerly AICR) and the NHMRC. Professor Giraud has been continuously supported by the NHMRC since 1988. He has an undergraduate degree in Zoology, a PhD in comparative gut morphology, and postdoctoral degrees on gut proteomics and endocrinology from the UK and USA.
