He holds a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (1995), a master's degree (2000-2001) and a Ph.D. (2001 and 2004) in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Florida, USA (2006-2008). During his doctorate, he held a sandwich training course in Berlin-Germany working on the development of transgenic animals. He is currently associate professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Researcher 1B at CNPq. Has experience in the field of Physiology and Cell Biology working mainly on the following topics: cardiac renin angiotensin system and nanotechnology applied to bone repair.
