Biography

"Mrs. Amy Grugan joined the Nursing department as an Assistant Professor in 2010. She completed her BSN degree and MSN degree in nursing administration from Bradley University. She is currently enrolled in PhD coursework at Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University. With 18 years of nursing experience at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, she has expertise in emergency and critical care in the Emergency Department, experience as a Life Flight Transport Nurse, Life Flight Clinical Nurse Educator, and in the Interventional Radiology department. She teaches at senior Medical/Surgical theory, senior and junior simulation, and is the skills lab and simulation lab coordinator. She is a co-faculty leader for the Bradley Student Nurses' Association and a current member of Sigma Theta Tau. She is certified as Trauma Nurse Specialist and her research interest is health literacy in the Emergency Department patient population."
