Biography

Dr. Amare Worku Tadesse Amare Worku is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (ACIPH), Ethiopia and Head of the Department of Public Health Sciences. He has received his Doctoral Degree in Medicine from Addis Ababa University (2005) and Master of Public Health from University of Gondar (2009). He has a demonstrable teaching and research experience since 2009. He has published works in international and national peer-reviewed journals. He has also been actively involved in large scale nutrition research projects that are mainly linked to assessment of the National Nutrition Program (NNP) in Ethiopia including Community Based Nutrition Program (CBN) and Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). He has served as a project lead in nutrition intervention evaluation projects and closely worked with Gates foundation and fhi-360 funded projects, on behalf of Alive and Thrive and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), SIDA, PATH and UNICEF. He has also participated in consultative workshops, international and national conferences related to maternal and child nutrition, HIV/AIDS and other issues of public health importance. He is an active member of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition Research Advisory Council (RMNCAH/N‐RAC) of Ethiopia and Ethiopian Public Health Association. Prior to his academic carrier, Dr. Amare provided clinical services in both the public and private sector.
