Biography

Amal Elamin is an assistant professor in Zayed University, Saudi Arabia. She did her Doctor of Philosophy in health sciences from University of Bergen, Norway with specialization in oral microbiology and public health. She did her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from University of Khartoum, Sudan. Her research interest is children’s and adolescents oral health. Mainly examining the etiology of aggressive periodontitis and intra-species phylogenetic differences and identify virulent pathogenic clones of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans associated with the disease. She is also interested in studying the oral health status of pre-schoolers in relation to their nutritional habits.
