Biography

Dr. Ali Hakkaki-Fard is an assistant professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, head of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems (RASES) lab and memebr of the research chair of the novel energy systems at Sharif University of Technology. He received his Ph.D from McGill University (Montreal, Canada), department of mechanical engineering in 2011. His doctoral research was focused on numerical flowfield analysis of unsteady shock wave reflections. During 2011-12 he was research assistant of Professor E. Timofeev. During this period, he studied the influence of viscosity and surface curvature on unsteady shock reflections. On Oct. 2012, he joined CanmetENERGY- Natural Resources Canada, Varennes as a postdoctoral researcher. There, he studied air-source and ground-source heat pumps. Because of his achievements, he received the "Innovation" Employees Awards Program 2015. He left Canmet on Dec. 2015.
