Research Intrest

My own research over the past 30 years has focused primarily on the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of acute and persistent diarrhoea and dehydration in children and adults, particularly in poor countries. My main focus of research is further improvement of oral rehydration solution, finding an effective antidiarrhoeal drugs/food and appropriate procedure of rehydration in severely malnourished children especially severe acute malnutrition (SAM). I have over 70 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including several seminal publications on the use of oral rehydration solution for the management of cholera and non-cholera diarrhea.
