Born in Gaziantep in 1980, Prof. Aksoy completed his schooling in Gaziantep before studying at Cumhuriyet University Medical School from 1997 to 2000, and later Gaziantep University Medical School from 2000 to 2003. He completed his specialty training at Gaziantep University Medical School from 2005 to 2011 and qualified as a general surgeon. Following his compulsory service in Cizre from 2011 to 2012, he started to work as a general surgeon at the private Sani KonukoÄŸlu Hospital in November 2012. Prof. Aksoy’s special areas of interest include obesity and metabolic surgery (bariatric surgery), laparoscopic surgery and tumor surgery. He is married, with one child, and is an academic member of the Department of General Surgery at SANKO University Medical School.
